The career guidance activities of the Department of Digital Technologies in Energy extend beyond Kyiv. Rudyk Volodymyr Ivanovych visited Zdolbuniv Lyceum No. 2 in Rivne Oblast, to share with eleventh-graders not just information about admissions, but the real experience of a person who successfully combines studies, science, and a professional career.
Volodymyr Rudyk, like many young lecturers at the DTE department, combines his work at the university with employment at an IT company. He is engaged in scientific research under the guidance of Professor V.H. Slipchenko.by researching current issues in digital technologies and artificial intelligence, while simultaneously working in the field of web development, applying the knowledge gained in practice. It is precisely this balance between fundamental science and commercial projects that makes his story valuable for schoolchildren.
During the meeting Rudyk V.I. Presented Computer Science At the Department of DTE and their own educational path: how a student can simultaneously delve into research, work on real client orders, and develop their competencies in their chosen field. This model of learning allows students not to wait for graduation to start building a career, but to develop in parallel with obtaining a diploma.
Of great importance to schoolchildren was the information about Certificate programmes, which are introduced by the department. They provide an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge in specific areas – for example, in Full-stack development. This means a narrow specialisation in in-demand market technologies with practical skills that can be immediately monetised.
Volodymyr explained in detail the organisation of the learning process, Programming language and frameworks in the programme, work on coursework and diploma projects. He emphasised the flexibility of the schedule and the support of the lecturers, thanks to which many students successfully work in IT companies during training.
The lyceum students were interested in opportunities for scientific work, career prospects, difficulty levels, and specialisation choices. The answers were based on specific examples – from the first steps in programming to participation in conferences and the creation of commercial web products.
